Joining World Affairs

"You do not have to be a genius to become a member, you simply need an intellectual curiosity
about the world we live in and how we are governed."

To get a feel for the World Affairs experience, please explore our website and view past meetings at our Video Archive. We welcome new members with a genuine interest in the wide range of topics we cover and a commitment to their continuing education.

The enormous success of the Keele World Affairs lifelong learning class has created its own challenges. We are an educational charity and in July 2017 made significant policy changes that affect the admission of new members.

To become a member and to stay a member you will need to commit to each of our conditions of membership; you can view them here. These, critically, include the requirement to attend 13 or more of our 24 meetings each season and to commit to attending the full two-hour meetings comprising lecture and Q & A session. Membership is very rewarding but please think carefully as not everyone will wish or will be able to make this commitment.
